What's new in the 2014.01 version?
It is always a challenging question to answer when a technical software releases a new version since there always is a long list of what to improve around, all the way from glimpse user-friendly aspects to improvements in computational algorithm.
But here is a list to briefly present the vital new features added:

• A new gradient based optimization algorithm (Levenberg Marquardt) for EOS model regression
• Domain Sensitivity Analysis Export to Pipesim (compositional model)
  
• Mixture monotonicity check during mixture edition, regression and splitting
  
• New plus fraction characterization correlations is now included: Hosseinifar-Jamshidi (2014)
• A capability to compare the performance of any two mixtures on an experiment
  
• Multiple related samples splitting (Gamma distribution method)
• Regression on fluid composition by assuming constant feed weight percent and changing plus fraction molecular weight
  
• Modified ternary phase envelope calculation algorithm
• Quality lines to the phase envelope
• CVD tests for oil samples
• Plotting phase envelope gradient in Composition vs. Depth test
• Duplicating a test in a mixture
• Improvements in Export to Excel
• Averaging multiple mixtures by mole fraction, mass fraction and arithmetic averaging
• Automatic name selection for created pseudo-components after grouping
• Sorting grouped fractions by their molecular weights after grouping
• ِDuplicating test(s) from a mixture to other mixtures
• A capability to compare critical tests before and after tuning, splitting and grouping
• Modification in some of viscosity calculation algorithms
• Using multiplier in table unit converter

In addition to the above list, there are some new case studies added to the software which can be used as instantaneous used guides. Like always, the PVTmaster Development Team came up with some interesting improvements in user interface and also a number of functionality bugs are now fixed.

We decided to simply replace the previous version with the new one, so from now on only the latest version will be available to download in the website and the older versions are kept in a private repository and not the website. We would be also very happy to have your feedback on how the new version meets your expectation.

As the year 2014 started, the generous special offer for PVTmaster expired, however the offer for students keeps being in place due to the decision by the PVTmaster Team:

SPE student chapters
We offer the SPE student chapters (Society of Petroleum Engineers student chapters) up to 95% discount on the price of the full version software license including the cost for the dongle and shipping. Each SPE student chapter can request for one license with these conditions.

Students
Full time students in the relevant programs (Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Reservoir Engineering, Geosciences) will get the full version software free of charge. The cost for the dongle and shipping should be covered by the applicant though.

UPDATE , 09/04/2013 @ 12:12 Norwegian time:
The problem has been resolved.
Now all browsers including Google Chrome may be used to download PVTmaster with no difficulties.

Thanks to feedback from several users, the technical team for PVTmaster has encountered a minor incompatibility of the download page with the Chrome internet browser by Google. The error message can be disregarded using the "keep" option in this case. This could be a temporary solution to the problem while we keep working with Google to address the issue.

In the meantime we do recommend that users download the software using the internet browsers Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer for the best download experience.
